A Summer with Trading Hope

by  Brooke Jones

As October weather rolls around I find myself in a constant battle between wanting to curl up with a book and a pumpkin spice latte, or reminiscing upon the spectacular summer months that have come and gone.
Today, I chose to be nostalgic and felt led to share why this summer was so spectacular and impacting. This summer I had the opportunity to work as a creative design intern for a company called Trading Hope. Trading Hope transforms lives with business by alleviating poverty and its symptoms. They work with small organizations and businesses, all over the world, by providing free business consultation and providing them with larger markets.

It was so incredible to work behind the scenes with a company that provides these kind of services. This was the exact company that I always wanted to be a part of. Trading Hope does business for a greater cause. I learned that my skills as an aspiring designer could make a difference in the world.  I learned how to be a better blogger, product photography, planned photo-shoots, modeled, helped create lookbooks (link below), collaborated on design and product ideas for the fall and winter lines, and even planned a fashion show at the end of the summer. It was so rewarding knowing that all of our efforts go towards a greater purpose and that there was a way to do what I love in tandem with making a difference.
